Welcome to my review of Trades of Hope. I believe it is so important to do research before making an important decision. Perhaps you are wondering, “Is Trades of Hope a scam?” or what exactly is it all about. If that’s you, then you’re in the right place. I vow to give you only the facts.
Unfortunately, there are many scams out there, especially when it comes to making money online. But there are genuine folks out there as well, who actually want to help you and give you something of value for your time, and your money.
What Is Trades of Hope?
Trades Of Hope was created in 2013 by Gretchen Huijskens, Elisabeth Huijskens, Holly Wehde, and Chelsie Antos and they are based out of Bunnell, Florida.
Trades Of Hope is a MLM (Multi-level Marketing) company that sells handcrafted jewelry, bags and different types of decor from all over the world. This organization takes women who are in impoverished countries and helps them become artisans who create goods that they can sell to earn a living and provide for their children.
This also creates another opportunity for women who may want to try their hand at entrepreneurship and sell these unique goods to others to earn revenue. And it seems to attract women who are passionate about helping others and fair trade. In other words, they’re not just in it to make money but to make a positive impact as well.
While I’m not a fan of MLM companies, it’s worth noting that Trades of Hope are dedicated to creating a positive impact on global communities, and I respect that. They’re also not your average business. They prioritize the welfare of their artisans just as much as the satisfaction of their customers.
How Much Does It Cost To Join?
After doing extensive research on this particular MLM organization, information on the joining cost was limited. What I found was that it costs $99 for a Traveler Kit which contains some products and business materials. You also have the option to have your own website and marketing portal which is free for the first 30 days. After that, it will be $13.95 per month.
Can You Make Money With Trades Of Hope?
There are two ways to make money with Trades of Hope. You can sell the products and earn a commission. On top of that you can also build a team which is a little more difficult, but you can make more money.
The products that you will sell will mainly consist of jewelry and home decor that is handmade by artisans from different parts of the world like Guatemala, Cambodia, Kenya and Peru.
Customers will be more inclined to buy from you because most of the items are handmade and unique, plus it’s for a good cause. The artisans get paid 100% up front of the asking price, which is how they make a living and take care of their family. I was impressed reading some of the stories shared by customers. They don’t just rave about the beauty of the products but also the joy of knowing their purchase contributes to a greater cause. There’s a sense of connection that comes with each item, knowing that it supports sustainable livelihoods and provides empowerment to those creating them.
The prices of the items are pretty reasonable. Most of the bracelets and earrings go for $20 – $30. Everything is individually handmade, so the quality is pretty good too. So, I don’t think you would have much of a problem making sales.
As far as making money, distributors start out making 25% commission on their Personal Retail Volume (PRV). They can rank up in the company and get bumped up to 35% commission. They can do this not only by sales but by getting involved in building a team also.
Personally, that’s the only thing that I don’t care for when it comes to MLM’s. I just don’t like the idea of bothering my family and friends to buy my stuff or join my team and help me sell all of this stuff. It’s just not me.

Selling The Products
Once you become a distributor, there are two ways to sell the products. The first way is a party model where you can invite people over and showcase the products to them. This tends to work well because your potential customers can see and touch the actual, physical product as you give them the details like where it came from and who made it.
This can also be a negative situation as well as you will have to come out-of-pocket and buy enough product to have on display for your party. If you don’t sell enough of the product, then you’re stuck with a bunch of extra stuff that you have to store somewhere until you can sell it. Womp Womp
The second way to sell the products is with a replicated website. This is free for the first month but after that it will cost $13.95 per month which is pretty high for this type of company. But if I were going to join Trades Of Hope, I would prefer to market the products with a replicated website rather than having to host parties for my friends and family and try to get them to buy stuff.
I also hear that these replicated websites aren’t even that good compared to having a real website. I hear they’re just real generic and they don’t rank well in the search engines which is no bueno.
Conclusion
Is Trades of Hope a scam? No, it’s not a scam at all. Honestly, I’m a bit of an introvert and that’s why I’m not attracted to MLM’s. If you are a “people-person” with strong social skills, I’m sure that you could do great with Trades of Hope or any other MLM for that matter. It’s just not for me.
Do you have any experience with Trades of Hope or any other MLM. If so, I would love to hear about it. Please leave a comment and share with your friends in social media land!
