Making Money Online Writing Articles – High Rankings = Traffic

This article is not only going to be about making money online writing articles but also about how to get said articles ranked in Google, Bing, and Yahoo as well, for Free! If you can get your posts ranked on the first page of these major search engines, you will get a lot of traffic. And if you monetize your article through affiliate links, ads, etc. then that traffic can turn into revenue easily.

I’ve learned this through Wealthy Affiliate and I’m very grateful that I did!

It’s All About the Keywords

Keywords are basically the word or phrase that someone types in a search engine when they are looking something up online. And if you want your article to get ranked, it all starts with finding the right keyword. Enter Jaaxy.

Wealthy Affiliate has a powerful tool called Jaaxy. You can search for absolutely any keyword and Jaaxy will give you 3 very important pieces of data: Avg, Traffic, and QSR.

Avg is the average number of searches that the keyword receives on a monthly basis. The higher the number, obviously the more popular that word is.

Traffic tells you the average number of visitors to your website if you achieve first page rankings in the search engine.

QSR (Quoted Search Results) This is the number of websites ranked in Google for this exact keyword. The lower the QSR number, the better because your chances of ranking high for that keyword are better.

This is just a brief description of Jaaxy. When you go through the easy-to-follow training at WA, Kyle does a great job of explaining every part of this useful tool.

Focus On Quality Content

When I first started WA with my outdoor gear website, I made the mistake of rushing through each post, and it showed in the lack of quality content. It is true that you don’t want to go too long without adding content to your website and that’s all I focused on. And the last couple of website reviews I received said it was night and day difference between my very first post and the last post.

I started to realize that I had to slow down a bit and focus on the quality of my content. And today I create content with the intent of being helpful. After all, its human beings that enter the keywords into Google or Bing and they expect to find what they’re looking for. So I always try to deliver helpful content. I learned that through the training at WA.

Don’t Forget to Add Pictures (and Video)

As humans we are visual by nature. Most of the time if I look something up online and there’s YouTube videos in the results, I’m going to click on the videos. That’s just me. I would rather watch someone show me how to do something then read through paragraph after paragraph. Or I don’t mind reading some words on a post that also has a helpful diagram to follow.

It’s just important to make sure that the images or videos are relevant to the topic of the article. I’m not going to have a picture of my chihuahua on a post about working on muscle cars you know?

And there are few websites where you can find images that aren’t copyrighted like Pixabay or Splitshire. I use Unsplash a lot! I’m always able to find exactly what I’m looking for there.

Request Comments

Wealthy Affiliate is a community. And the majority of the community are actually really nice, helpful individuals. So WA has a tool called Site Comments where you can request people in the community to leave comments on your website posts.

However, WA is a pay-it-forward community where we give and take. Meaning you first leave a comment on two other member’s posts and in return you can request a comment on one of your posts.

That is one thing Google and the other lead search engines look for when indexing and ranking content. Engagement through comments and replies to comments helps out when ranking content.

It’s also helpful to have others point out some things that you may have overlooked.

Conclusion

I just barely scratched the surface with this article. There’s so much more for me to learn but I do know that if you use these tips when you’re creating content, you will have success. You just need to keep creating quality content. It can be time-consuming sometimes, but I find that I get quicker with every post.

I’m sure I left out some stuff so if you have any questions or comments, please leave them below in the comment section.

Thank you and have a blessed day!

Billy
