How To Sell Online For Free

In this post I’m going to share some tips with you on how to sell online for free. I’ve used EBay to sell stuff in the past and while they do offer a straight forward, user-friendly process to list your items, sometimes those selling fees make me question if it was really worth it.

I also have some experience selling on Facebook Marketplace. This worked out great because the computer chairs sold really fast and I didn’t have to ship them. The buyer came to my house and picked them up. I also kept 100% of the money because Facebook Marketplace doesn’t charge fees.

But there are more online selling options out there to check out. Take a look at these options and decide on which one is best for you.

Craigslist

I remember a time when we used to look through the classified ads in the local paper to find products and services. Today you can log on to Craigslist and find housing, work, products for sale, etc.

You can also list your own products or services without the hassle of listing or shipping fees.

Much like Facebook Marketplace, it’s ideal for selling locally. The only thing is you are responsible for everything from customer service, product handling, delivery, etc.

Geebo

Geebo is an online classified’s website similar to Craigslist but not as popular. It is easy to use and some people say the layout is more colorful and attractive than Craigslist. This could be a benefit for sellers as some online shoppers gravitate more toward websites that are easy on the eyes.

It’s free to list products or services on Geebo making it another great platform to easily advertise and sell online. And their tagline is “Safe Community Classifieds” which gives me the impression that I can feel safe selling or buying within this community.

However I want to add that when buying or selling on Geebo, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, etc. When it’s time to meet up to complete the sale, it’s always a good idea to exercise caution. You can arrange to meet in a well lit parking lot or even a local police station. And you can have a friend with you too. You never can be too careful.

Letgo

Another fast growing online marketplace is Letgo. It is free to list your items and they do not charge commission or fees after you complete your sale. For a minimal fee they will high lite your product among the competition.

It’s available in app form for your smart phone which is very useful. The app has a built in chat feature so the buyer and seller can easily communicate with one another. The app can easily categorize your product image under the right category and give it an appropriate title.

I definitely recommend Letgo for selling electronics, clothes, furniture, cars, etc.

Facebook Marketplace

Facebook Marketplace is my current go-to marketplace when I’m selling something. Everytime I list something for sale I get questions from potential buyers within minutes. In my experience, stuff sells quickly and easily on Facebook Marketplace.

You don’t have to deal with mailing the product off to the buyer. You usually arrange to meet up somewhere to settle up. Another advantage of this marketplace is that the customer can check out the seller’s Facebook profile and kind of get an idea of how trustworthy the seller is. Or vice versa.

Anyway, I would recommend Facebook Marketplace for anyone looking to make some quick money selling there stuff.

These are all great ways to make some extra money from old things you may have lying around the house. And there are several people out there running successful businesses on Craigslist and EBay selling their own product.

However, there is another way to start your own online business in Affiliate Marketing. You can make good money from commissions for just promoting someone else’s product. This is what I’m doing today to make some extra money.

I’ve been a member of Wealthy Affiliate for about 8 months now and it really is an exciting experience.

I’ve written a review on WA if you care to check it out. ((My Wealthy Affiliate Review))

It’s free to join and the training is very easy to follow.

I included this brief information about Wealthy Affiliate because it is definitely a way for you to make money online and you don’t even need your own product.

What are some of your favorite ways to sell online.

Please let me know in the comments below!

Cheers,

Billy
