How To Find Keywords For My Website – For Free

One of the first lessons that I learned at Affiliate Bootcamp was keyword research. They taught me how to create my own website and build it out with content (Blogging). They told me that it’s super important to have a unique yet relevant title for each blog post. And that’s when the word “Keyword” was added to my vocabulary.

If I’m going to be successful in online affiliate marketing, I have to know how to find keywords for my website or for my blog.

And for that I will need a keyword research tool.

What Is Keyword Research?

But first what is keyword research? Well, a keyword is the word or phrase that someone types into a search engine when they are searching for something online. There are ways that you can find out what keywords are popular with your audience, and you can use that as inspiration on what to write about.

Before I tell you about this awesome keyword research tool, I want to share a tip that I have learned along the way. Know your audience. It’s important to keep the reader in mind when you are writing your blog out. It’s also important to meet Google’s requirements especially if you’re trying to get your website ranked well in the search engines. But you really want to write for your reader and be helpful to them. If you do this, Google will notice.

Wealthy Affiliate offers what I like to call a one-stop-shop keyword research tool called Jaaxy. When you become a member of WA, you can use Jaaxy Light for free. Or you can upgrade to a Pro account for $49/month or an Enterprise account for $99/month. So far, the free account has worked fine for everything that I need.

How To Find Keywords For My Website

There are 4 metrics to look at when choosing a quality keyword with Jaaxy:

AVG – This is the average number of searches that the keyword receives per month. The higher the number, the better. Anything over 30 is good to go.

KQI (Keyword Quality Indicator) – Green = Great Yellow = OK Red = Poor

QSR (Quoted Search Results) – This is the number of competing websites ranked in Google for this exact keyword. The lower the number, the better. Anything below 100 is ideal for ranking.

SEO – This number is based on traffic and competition. The higher the number, the more likely you will rank for this keyword on the first page.

So, the ideal metrics for a keyword with potential to rank well would be a AVG of 30 or higher and a QSR of 100 or below. Sometimes you will find an awesome keyword that has like 600 monthly searches and the QSR (Competition) is like 40. As long as it makes sense and is relevant to my niche, I would jump on it!

  1. Hey Billy, thanks so much for this wonderful article. I actually follow the rules but I have learned from your work especially the true meanings of KQI and QSR which shows you have really mastered Jaaxy. One more thing I grasp was if the AVG is high with low QSR. I was always scared of higher AVG values Billy. Now how long could a keyword be ranked first page in google after implementing all these rules, well let’s say with moderate sharing of your content on social media?
    Thanks again sir.
